90 Minutes of Time Off for You.
The cacao ceremony has its origins in South and Latin America. The shamans of the tribes living there used this ritual to honor the goddess Cacao. The cacao ceremony is said to release feelings and strengthen intuition. Many indigenous peoples use the healing plant cacao to restore the balance between humans and nature. The goal is to help people find clarity and self-determination. In doing so, inner blockages are released and a state of harmony is reached. Creativity is also fostered by the cacao ceremony. Cacao rituals are, as participants describe it, a natural way to bring your everyday life and mind into balance and relaxation.
On a psychological level, ceremonial cacao contains serotonin, the "happiness hormone," as well as tryptophan, which stimulates the body's own serotonin production and thereby reduces anxiety and stress. In addition, anandamide, the "bliss chemical," has been found in cacao. This leads to the metaphysical, spiritual level, which can lead to insights, impulses and improved intuition. Cacao also strengthens feelings of connection, compassion and love.

The Effects of Ceremonial Cacao
Under medical supervision, cacao has been shown to stimulate the central nervous system without activating the sympathetic nervous system. That means alertness and clarity without triggering stress in the body.
Raw cacao has been found to contain minerals and trace elements such as iron, zinc, antioxidants, theobromine, serotonin, proanthocyanidin, anandamide, methylxanthines, tryptophan and phenylethylamine, which produce a particularly strong heart-warming feeling in the body when consumed.
Cacao can lead to the release of oxytocin - the same hormone released during a long hug, when falling in love, in an intimate relationship, and during sex.
In principle, its effects can be described as follows:
- Energizes body & mind
- Relaxes and stimulates at the same time
- Brings clarity and focus
- Supports creativity
- Opens the heart (chakra)
- Fosters empathy and compassion (for yourself and your surroundings)
- Strengthens the connection to our body and to Mother Nature
The effect varies from person to person and depends on the amount consumed. Your mood on the day and physical condition also play a role.
